AJO · 阿乔

"Silence is not the absence of sound."

AJO is a Sardinia-based writer of archaeological mysteries, geological fiction and audible history — someone who has lived between Sardinia and China for more than a decade, splitting time between the archives of Cagliari and the Bronze-Age nuraghi scattered across the island.

Her debut, The Mystery of the Stone Tower — Book One of The Whisper of the Nuraghi (MAREVA Editions) — follows acoustic archaeologist Leo Marchi, who hears a frequency that should not exist beneath a collapsed hillside in Orgosolo. It is the first door in the MAREVA universe: six series, thirty books, one island at the centre.

Why Sardinia

Seven thousand stone towers, built over twelve centuries by a people who left no written language — and almost no one outside the island has ever heard of them. English-language thrillers set in Sardinia were effectively non-existent when this series began. That gap is the reason for the books: real megaliths, real infrasound research, real fieldwork — and one invented frequency to stitch them into a story.

The fact / fiction line

What is real: the nuraghi, Su Nuraxi, Orgosolo, Gola su Gorropu, the Latronico 2006 low-frequency observations, archaeoacoustics as a contested field, and the island itself.
What is invented: the 19.3 Hz frequency, the singing towers, Leo Marchi, and every conspiracy beneath them. The novel is fiction — deliberately grown out of real science, never presented as it.
