MAREVA Capes - Volume One

The Whisper of the Nuraghe

The Tower of Stone

Three thousand silent towers. One frequency that should not exist.

A 3,500-year-old Nuraghe tower cracks open in a Sardinian earthquake. Acoustic archaeologist Leo Marchi hears the echo beneath the silence -- and it is not the wind. Welcome to MAREVA. A book you read with your ears.

Interactive - 19.3HzInfrasound Simulator

The 19.3Hz frequency that recurs throughout the novel lies in the infrasound range -- below human hearing. This simulator visualizes its waveform and rhythm, letting you "see" the tower breathe. Headphones recommended.

Note: This is a waveform visualization. The actual 19.3Hz Nuraghe resonance recording will be available after launch -- scan the QR code below to access it.

Prologue - Earthquake
CASTIADAS - SARDINIA - 2026-05-17 21:04 - MAGNITUDE 4.1

The June dusk settled over the University of Cagliari lecture hall. Leo Marchi's fingers gripped the podium edge, the wood still tacky from the previous speaker's sweat -- rough, damp. Fifty faces stared back at him like fifty unloaded guns...

Inside the tower, the spiral corridor hummed in the dark. He heard it -- not the wind, but a frequency compressed by three thousand years of silence.

Chapter 1 - The Heretic Archaeologist
CAGLIARI - Acoustic Archaeology - Academic Tribunal

The middle-aged professor in the third row laughed out loud -- not a polite, restrained laugh, but an undisguised, mocking sneer. In academia, ridicule is "academic murder": one successful public humiliation can destroy a young scholar's three-year career.

"Professor Ricci," he raised his voice, "if we applied the same standards to Stonehenge, we'd call it nothing more than a fence."

Chapter 2 - Three Thousand Silent Towers
SS131 - Driving North at Dawn - ORGOSOLO

Northern Sardinia had not yet fully woken. On the passenger seat lay a road atlas, red circles marking location after location -- each one a "tower" symbol on the map. Its starting point was a highway ramp, and a July morning.

Our ancestors needed no writing -- they needed only a tower that could remember the wind.

Puzzle - Clue TrailThe First Clue

This is the first key that threads through the entire novel. Solve it, and you will find the passphrase to a hidden page on this site.

CLUE 001

It spirals upward, narrow enough for only one person at a time. At its center, at the top, there is a stone worn smooth -- polished by thousands of fingers over millennia. It does not face the sea. It faces east. It waits for someone from a land without towers.

Passphrase: The eastward tower is called "The First Echo" in the novel. Enter WHISPER19.3 on the Echo Map page to unlock a hidden chapter.

The Book of the Wreck

The last Bronze Age ship sinks with a cargo that should not exist: an acoustic "fingerprint." The B-series resonates next.

Characters, frequencies, and "the grandmother who hears the wind" thread through the entire series. Each volume can be read independently, but together they form a complete resonance.

About - AuthorAbout the Author - AJO

AJO is a Sardinia-based writer of archaeology, geology, and audible history. Based between Cagliari and the Nuraghe towers.

On the boundary between fact and fiction: The Nuraghe tower structures, the UNESCO World Heritage site Su Nuraxi, and the approximately 7,000 Nuraghe towers across Sardinia are based on public archaeological data. The characters, plot, and the "19.3Hz frequency code" are fictional artistic devices. Detailed fact/fiction annotations appear in each chapter's source notes and the book's epilogue.
